Dear Student Group Officers,
Please take note of the following announcements:
1. Anti-Hazing Acknowledgement Required
2. Fall General Body Meeting Scheduled
3. Meet the new director of SAO!
---------------------------------------------------------------
1. Anti-Hazing Acknowledgement
All groups must provide acknowledgment of compliance with the Massachusetts
Anti-Hazing Law every year. This is a strict requirement of maintaining
your ASA recognition status.
The online form is available at:
http://asa.scripts.mit.edu/applications/hazing
All groups must provide confirmation by Friday 10/22 at 11:59pm. After
that there will be a $25 fine for late submissions, one week after the
deadline groups that have not submitted a form will be suspended and fined
$50 for late submissions, and three weeks after the deadline any remaining
groups will be derecognized.
Two sets of groups are exempt from this requirement:
- ASA Recognized FSILGs that already submitted acknowledgement to the FSILG
Office
- Club Sports that have already submitted acknowledgement to the Club
Sports Council and DAPER
---------------------------------------------------------------
2. Fall General Body Meeting Scheduled
The Fall General Body Meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, November 3,
at 7:30pm. More details including a location and an agenda will be sent
closer to that date. All groups are required to send a representative - a
person may represent multiple groups, but they will only get a single vote.
---------------------------------------------------------------
3. Meet the new director of SAO!
Leah Flynn, the new Assistant Dean and Director of Student Leadership and
Engagement Programs, will be starting this month. She will have a meet and
greet for students on Thursday, November 4 from 4pm-5:30pm in W20-549. Light
snacks will be provided.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Please feel free to email asa-exec at mit.edu with any requests, questions, or
other inquiries.
Sincerely,
The ASA Executive Board
