[ASA-Official] Changes in the Student Activities Office

Hello,

We hope that everyone’s school year has gotten off to a great start.  We want to take this opportunity to update you and your student organizations on some of the changes that have and are occurring within the Student Activities Office (SAO).

First, we will soon be joined by the new Assistant Dean and Director for Student Leadership and Engagement Programs, Leah Flynn.  Leah will start serving in her role as Director of the SAO on October 25th.  We know that she is eager to get started and ready to learn all about MIT and the role she will play on campus.  The SAO is excited for her arrival, and we ask you to join us in welcoming her to MIT!

At the same time, the SAO will begin the process of searching for full time replacements of the Assistant Director for Student Activities and the Administrative Assistant for Student Activities.  During this time of transition we ask that you please help us – leave plenty of time for the processing of financial requests, come in early to register events, and if you have questions please let us know.  You, the students, are our number one priority and we want to the ensure the continued success of your organizations and programs.  If you have concerns or challenges that arise please come see us, call us, or drop us an email before they become problems.

If you’ve had the opportunity to come into the SAO, you’ll also note that our space has changed!  We now have more room for visitors to sit as well as a computer and scanner station.  We encourage you to come check out the space.
