Hey guys and girls!
Sorry I'm a bit late, but...
*HAPPY AUTUMN FESTIVAL!*
Also known as:
*Mid-Autumn Festival (China, Taiwan, HK)*
*Chuseok (Korea)*
*Lantern Festival (Singapore, Malaysia)*
*Reunion Festival (China, Taiwan)*
*Mooncake Festival (China, Taiwan, HK, Philippines)*
*Tet Trung Thu (Vietnam)*
*Children's Festival (Vietnam)*
*Tsukimi (Japan)*

Although the exact dates vary from country to country, it can be said that
most Asian countries celebrate their Autumn harvests with a fun festival of
some sort. If you think about this holiday from a Western perspective, you
can say that the Autumn Festival is the Eastern equivalent of American
Thanksgiving.

During this time of the year, families reunite and gather to celebrate a
successful harvest and gaze at the full moon. Nowadays, it is popular to
eat moon cake (shown above) and have a family barbeque.

Hope you take some time this weekend to contact your family and wish them a
happy Autumn Festival even though you are away!

EAT SOME MOON CAKES,
your awesome AAA cultural chair <3

P.S. Did you know that the Han Chinese concealed messages within
traditional mooncakes to spread the command to rebel against the Mongol
rulers on Mid-Autumn Day at the end of the Yuan Dynasty?
