Hey AAA!~
My name is Kathy Lin and I'm one of your co-career/political chairs. One of
AAA's core club values is to *promote engagement and awareness of Asian
American issues and concerns*.

To do so, we're helping to host a Boston wide event this Saturday called

*BAASIC *
(Boston Asian American Students' Intercollegiate Coalition)
*Where: * MIT (Check in at 26-100)

Cost: *FREE* for MIT students with ID ($25 for everyone else)
*Why it's free:* MIT AAA is co-hosting the event and reserving the spaces
necessary for the workshops! You're part of the club that's helping to make
this event happen. And the BAASIC board has agreed to let us onboard for
FREE! :)

*Date&Time:* This Saturday 11/16, 9AM-5PM (*but you* *come and go as you
like!) *

*What is BAASIC?*

   - Day conference to raise awareness of Asian American issues.

   - Workshop series featuring talks on several topics such as:
   - *The Bamboo Ceiling:* *Why aren't more minorities in leadership
positions? What is the future for women and minorities in these
      high-paying, high-status professions?*
      - *Asian Americans and Grad Schools:* How to shine as an Asian
      American Grad School Applicant
      - *Entrepreneurship: Chicken and Rice Guys: *Meet the founder and CEO
of Chicken and Rice Guys Ian So.
      - *Photography*: Learn the fine points of professional photography
and gain deeper insight on her success from Tammy Mo.
      - *Cooking: *Learn to make delicious food from a renowned food
      blogger, Jennifer Che.

      - A day of food, opportunities fair and entertainment featuring Derek
Hsu (Kollaboration 2013 Boston Grand Prize Winner), MIT's John Chow, and
   more.

*Why go: *

   - It's easy to get lost in the MIT bubble and lose track of what's going
on in the real world. There are actually a lot of adversities troubling the
Asian Pacific Islander American (APIA) community.

   - BAASIC is open to all Boston area schools, so it's a great way to meet
new people while gaining a well-deserved sense of membership and identity
   in the APIA community!

   - All attendees get a free t-shirt and food! (Who doesn't like free
   stuff)

   - Every BAASIC participant has the chance to win a free Kaplan Advantage
On site, Classroom Anywhere or On Demand course for the *GRE, LSAT,
MCAT, GMAT, DAT, PCAT or OAT*. (Course value is up to $1999).
