Hey loves, hope you're all packed and safely headed home! Below is a
message from an alum. Her friend is in dire need of a bone marrow
transplant. Just a reminder that it's no longer a painful procedure! It's
completely painless thanks to technology. The link below will let you sign
up to have a kit delivered for free to your house. Send it to your summer
address! Many of you are already signed up from our drive with CSC last
year, thanks :D But if you didn't have a chance, or you're a freshman...
this is an easy, painless way to potentially save someone's life someday.

HAPPY SUMMERRRRR

I am an MIT alumnus and am hoping that I can inspire you and the other
members of AAA to help save a fellow Asian’s life. Currently, my friend
Nina, an educated, exuberant, young wife and mother, is unable to find a
bone marrow donor match in the marrow registries to help her combat
lymphoma, and she has approximately 7 WEEKS to find someone. As ethnicity
matters and Asians are typically underrepresented in bone marrow
registries, it will require grass roots efforts and individual heroes to
register their marrow types in order for a match of Nina’s type to be found.
Even if willing donors are not a match for Nina, once they are registered
through a simple, convenient and painless process, they remain in the
registry. Once in the registry, they will have the opportunity to save
another life through marrow donation, a procedure during which the donor
experiences NO PAIN. It is as simple as going to this website immediately
to submit a FREE request to be mailed a simple home kit for a cheek swab:

http://www.asianmarrow.org/index.php/order-an-individual-kit
Please label the kit “VINIYA” in the promo section to help expedite the
typing.

If you would help us in our desperate search to find Nina a bone marrow
match by passing this on to your current members and any other Asian
community members you may know (also consider registering yourself), we
would be extremely grateful.

To learn more about Nina and how much she needs the Asian community to
rally and get typed, please see this Facebook page:

It is a fact that most people in the Asian community that donate marrow to
save another person’s life say that it is the best thing that they have
ever done.

Thank you for acting quickly.

Sincerely,

Nicole Mai Ling (DiFonzo) Diamond
