Writing Compelling Cover Letters, Tuesday, September 27, 4-5pm, 2-105

This workshop will teach attendees how to craft a strategic cover letter.  Participants are encouraged to bring a job description they want to apply for to aid in the drafting of an effective cover letter.  General information on cover letters will also be discussed.  This workshop is open to undergraduate and graduate students as well as alumni.

Creating an Effective CV for the Academic Job Search, Wednesday, September 28, 2-3:30, 3-442

Technical skills will get you the interview; Behavioral attributes will get you the job. This session will discuss preparation and strategies for a successful interview. In addition, sample behavioral interview questions will be provided along with tips on how to answer those tough questions. Discuss ways to distinguish yourself from the competition.
