1. [OSP_Listserve] FW: [Fwd: 2010 Internship Challenge]]
2010 Internship Challenge, Mon, 11 Jan 2010 16:33:43 -0500, MLSC, Internship <internship at masslifesciences.com>

The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center would like to inform you about an internship program we are offering for summer 2010, and encourage students about this opportunity.

The Life Sciences Internship Challenge is a workforce development program focused on enhancing the talent pipeline for Massachusetts life sciences companies. The program will provide and fund summer 2010 internships for up to 150 students or recent graduates who are considering career opportunities in the life sciences. Host companies will commit to providing a dedicated mentor and meaningful internship opportunity that relates to the academic focus of eligible students. Studies have shown the value and necessity of providing students with internships in the field of life sciences, and we hope that this opportunity to explore a career path will enhance the students’ academic training.

Any student enrolled in a Massachusetts college or university is eligible to apply, provided that they meet the eligibility requirements. Prospective interns must be undergraduates in a 4-year institution who have or will graduate(d) in 2009, 2010 or 2011, graduate students who have or will graduate(d) in 2009, 2010 or 2011, or community college students that have complete(d) their Associate’s Degree or Certificate or the equivalent of one year’s course work related to the internship placement in 2009 or 2010.

For further details regarding this program, please visit our website, www.masslifesciences.com <http://www.masslifesciences.com/>.

If you have questions, please contact Ryan Mudawar at 781-373-7719 or internship at masslifesciences.com <mailto:internship at masslifesciences.com>.

Thank you for taking the time to inform your students and help them take advantage of this opportunity.
Sincerely, Susan R. Windham-Bannister, Ph.D., President and CEO, Massachusetts Life Sciences Center

In the Nebraska Summer Research Program, students receive first-hand exposure to research and the experiences of graduate school. They work closely with faculty mentors and research teams of graduate students and other summer scholars. Students also have opportunities to participate in meaningful social and professional development activities outside of the laboratory.

Our http://nebraska.unl.edu/talisma/URLTrack/OBMTrackingTest.asp?URL=http://www.unl.edu/summerprogram/apply.shtml&URLID=1075&Campaign=3066&Step=30660003&CID=2574315&OBMID=1886&TID=15966671 makes it easy for students to apply. Priority review begins Monday, February 15 and all applications are due Monday, March 1. Students historically underrepresented in graduate education and students from academic institutions where research programs are limited are especially encouraged to apply.

Please feel free to forward this to your students or to download our informational flyer at http://nebraska.unl.edu/talisma/URLTrack/OBMTrackingTest.asp?URL=http://go.unl.edu/m33&URLID=1076&Campaign=3066&Step=30660003&CID=2574315&OBMID=1886&TID=15966671 to post.
