OPPORTUNITY:

Process Driven Trading (PDT), founded by Peter Muller in 1993 as
Morgan Stanley's quantitative proprietary trading group, is hiring new
or recent PhD graduates to work with senior researchers on small,
collaborative teams to help create proprietary quantitative trading
models and strategies.

GROUP DESCRIPTION:

Long considered one of the elite quantitative trading outfits in the
world, PDT continues to function as a highly-successful internal hedge
fund, trading the Firm's capital.  Based on the belief that rigorous
scientific investigation can unveil inefficiencies in the financial
markets, PDT develops real-world trading strategies that earn
consistent profits surpassing market returns.

By combining creativity, mathematical finesse, technical
sophistication and teamwork, PDT has established a track record over
the past 15 years reflecting a highly-valuable, robust and healthy
business.

PDT's work environment is the ideal mix of academic collegiality and
real-world intensity, where great ideas and improvements are
recognized and implemented on their merits.  PDT's uncommon culture is
renowned on Wall Street. Intellectually-challenging, collaborative,
friendly and meritocratic, we attract and retain extraordinarily
talented individuals, many of whom have become great friends over the
years.

As part of our long horizon growth focus and investment in the group's
future, we remain committed to the infusion of new talent into PDT.

HIRING:

Smart, creative, tenacious individuals with intellectual integrity and
curiosity, who are interested in joining a talented, collaborative,
team-focused, academic (non-trading floor) environment.

Requirements:

2010 PhD candidates/postdocs in statistics, physics, math, electrical
engineering, computer science, chemistry and other
highly-quantitative/analytical disciplines.

Candidates should exhibit solid mathematical and analytical ability,
exceptional problem-solving and modeling ability, excellent
communication and solid programming skills (Matlab, S Plus/R, and/or
C/C++.)  Experience with large data sets an advantage.

Ideal candidates are entrepreneurial, innovative, focused and
collaborative, with a desire to work on complex, real-world problems
and contribute to a highly-successful team.

Finance knowledge is not required.  Students on F-1, H-1B, and other
visas are welcome to apply.

Please submit resumes to PDTcareers at morganstanley.com
