Subject: ESP Junction Summer Class - Quantum Mechanics and Linear Algebra

Hi,

Shaunak Kishore (a freshman majoring in math) and I (a sophomore majoring
in physics and math) are teaching for Junction, a program run by the
Educational Studies Program where undergraduates at MIT teach college
level classes to high school students. This summer, Shaunak and I are
teaching "Quantum Mechanics and Linear Algebra", a six-week course
(running Monday through Thursday evenings, 2 hours each night) that
attempts to integrate much of the content of 18.700 and 8.05 into one
rather fast-paced treatment. Given the importance of these topics in
their respective fields, we suppose that some MIT undergraduates may be
interested in taking the class. We were wondering if you could pass this
email along to the undergraduate mailing lists for math and physics.

All the details (logistics, course syllabus, etc.) are located at
http://esp.mit.edu/learn/Junction/index.html. In particular, the class
page is:
https://esp.mit.edu/learn/Junction/2009/quantum_and_linear_algebra.html.
One important difference: the cost for MIT undergrads will be $100, not
$600, and this price covers only this course (not the dinners and
seminars). If interested students have any further questions about the
structure/logistics of the program, they may contact the Junction
directors at junction at mit.edu. Questions about the content of the course
should be directed to Shaunak (skishore at mit.edu) or me (kdiab at mit.edu)

Thanks,

Kenan Diab
