[2015] Apology for Our Thoughtlessness

Dear Class,

Together as you council, we are writing in response to the numerous emails
we have received about the choice of vendor for the catering of the Speed
Meet and Greet event. We would like to apologize for any negative feelings
this choice may have brought you. MIT is a very principaled community, and
as your council we hold to the utmost importance the respect that serves as
the foundation for the school that we all love.

We apologize for unintentionally infringing upon a very sensitive debate.
In the future we will continue doing our best to not touch upon these
areas. As your council, we will advocate for all students, whether LGBTQ,
straight, not religious, religious, funny, smart, hardworking....all the
wonderful things that we as a community are. Let us, as diverse,
openminded, compassionate and empathetic group of students, together enjoy
this event, to meet and speak with more people from our wonderful 2015 class
