Hey Class of 2015!
I hope you're having a fantastic weekend! Remember those campaign promises about keeping you updated with cool campus events? We've (your class of 2015 council) been working hard, and are proud to announce a really exciting solution we have found to keep track of what's going on around campus.
The Class of 2015 Council has partnered with Planga, a system built by several MIT students, to organize all non-academic life at MIT. Why is it awesome? It minimizes spam, organizes everything, and maximizes communication. We can give you council event reminders, send you info about talks and seminars, tell you about free food - all without jamming your inboxes.
We'll use it to update you (but don't worry we'll still have these emails), so please sign up and become a fan of the Class of 2015 Group, and make sure your class year is set accurately on your profile! Some more information about Planga is at the end of the email, from the students that created it.
Also, don't forget that Tuesday is pizza night from 8-10 in the student center 1st floor lobby! (Our original balcony reservation was changed by the student activities office.) Come grab some food and just hang out. Ask us any questions about Planga or tell us about other suggestions/requests! And if you can, bring a couple bucks to donate to the Underclassmen Giving Campaign - they'll give you a really yummy cupcake.
Cheers,
Jessica & Your Class of 2015 Council

Planga is the brand new group and event system for MIT! Use Planga to:
-- See what events are happening at MIT, who's going, and what people are saying about them
-- Join and sync calendars with groups you're a part of & teams you're a fan of
-- Manage which groups you receive communications from
-- Sync your Planga calendar with your Google Calendar or iCal so you never miss an event
To find out more and get started, visit this link: https://mit.planga.com/logins/signin?video=autoplay
Many groups are still using e-mail lists, flyers, or outdated dolphin websites to keep in touch and spread the word about events. Make sure you get your group leaders to start using Planga to get more members, drive traffic to events, and to organize your group like never before! The more groups that are using Planga, the more amazing it will be for the entire MIT community.
Still not blown away? Google Maps is coming to Planga next week, which allows you to see where events are happening and where everyone is on campus on any given day. Android/iPhone apps are coming next month too! Stay tuned!
