[2015] Hello (From your class council)

Hey Class of 2015!

My name is Jessica Yang and I will be your class president for the coming year! Class council members Elizabeth Murphy, Vice President; Katie Lee, Secretary; Shruti Sharma, Treasurer; Bruno Faviero, Social Chair; Joanne Zhou, Publicity Chair; and myself would like to sincerely thank you much for electing us as your class council! We are all incredibly excited about making our time at MIT awesome!

So here's a little bit about me — I live in Baker house room 246. I'm super optimistic and see the world in only rainbows and sunshine. I pset on my floor and really like teaching, so you can ask me any 18.022/5.111/8.01 question and I'll try to help. I stocked my fridge with bacon — come by and we can make some. I love froyo and all food, going to boston, and watching Netflix — text me and we can hang out! As your class president, I'm also a member of the Undergraduate Association Executive Board, so I'll make sure to keep you updated and represent all our concerns. I promise I will advocate for you, listen to any and all of your concerns — even if they're not UA related — and plan awesome events for us throughout the year. Upcoming exciting things:

1. Sweatshirt Design Contest - It's a tradition for freshman to get class sweatshirts. To make it more fun, we're having a design contest to decide what they'll look like! So, to enter simply email (contact person) a JPEG image (or preferably the original file) of your design graphic by Friday, October 14th. The winning designer will receive a free class sweatshirt and $15 gift card to Pinkberry! (Along with bragging rights and pride of course : P) 

2. Ice Cream Sundae Making - We'll be set up in lobby 10 with ice cream, chocolate sauce, sprinkles, cherries, and other yummy things on Thursday, October 20th from 11AM to 3PM. Come flash your ID and grab some!

3. Event Suggestions - Put your cool ideas for what events YOU want to have this year in our suggestion box! We'll read everything and carefully consider it: http://bit.ly/q3NWql

4. Class Website - We're still setting up the class website right now, and will let you know when it's done. On it we'll have a calendar and weekly digest of freshman-relevant/free food events, events suggestion box/polling, and helpful navigating-MIT information. We're thinking about having a halloween event, sushi making, and other fun ideas, but if there's anything you want to suggest, submit it to us!

Finally, this is the official email list for our class. We want to keep you all SPAM-FREE, and will only email - as infrequently as we can - to tell about important, relevant, or mandatory (by MIT Administration) information.
