The admissions blogs were born 10 years ago today. Since the blogs were founded, they've been featured on the <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2009/10/02/education/02blogs.html">front page of the
<i>Times</i></a> applications to MIT have almost doubled, and prospective students consistently tell us that the blogs are part of the reason they fell in love with and applied to MIT. We've been very fortunate to have been allowed to start this experiment
in student-lead communication a decade ago, and are privileged to continue it today.

<div>We're celebrating with a week long blogparty, with over a dozen blogger alums coming back to post under their old accounts. First up is Ben Jones, VP of Communications at Oberlin, who founded the blogs; some of his posts, particularly <a href="http://mitadmissions.org/blogs/entry/50-reflections">50
Things</a> are still read by hundreds of people per day. He started us off w/ <a href="http://mitadmissions.org/blogs/entry/50-reflections">50 Reflections</a> on his time at MIT (and after). </div>
