<p class="MsoNormal">Our department, CISR, is seeking recommendations for data visualization and analysis software. It need not be free; in fact, our need for it to be COUHES compliant (not share our data) would likely mean we’d have to pay for it. Sloan has
a license for JMP, though it may not do everything we wish. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Criteria <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">–An easy-to-use (does not require coding skills), intuitive interface, the basics of which could be learned within a few hours<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">–Could export to various types of files and applications—web, with interactive functionality; image, to insert in PowerPoint and various types of documents; PDF; etc.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">–Interactivity for the creator of a visualization, and for end-users accessing the product, such as on the web
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">–A flexible solution that offers many options of charts and graphics, which can be quickly accessed to better understand your data from varied analyses
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">–Easily changed and broad-ranging formatting options <o:p>
</o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">–Allows integration with databases, and operates on the local machine
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">–Can combine multiple spreadsheets and visualizations into one presentation
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">–Supports various ways to work with data: filtering, sorting, grouping, etc.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">–For integration into our website, it must NOT require a Flash interface

<p class="MsoPlainText">–I imagine we might need not to be limited by data file size

<p class="MsoPlainText">–One product (Tableau) describes publishing to iPad, a capability that could be useful in some applications we're discussing<o:p></o:p></p>
