We use QR codes in the school news paper, the Harvard Gazette: http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/
In detail, we use them in the print version to tie into additional content online such as photo galleries and audio tours.
In addition, we are starting to use them on posters across campus to link users to our new mobile app, http://m.harvard.edu

Here is an overview with some examples of how we tied it in (QR portion starts on slide 14): http://www.slideshare.net/harvardwww/mobile-themes-qr-codes-and-shorturls

Good luck,

Anyone have experience with using QR codes on campus and care to offer any insights? Trying to figure out whether its worth it eg for getting events into people’s calendars via smartphone etc...

And if so, anything better than Google Charts for generating?

Cheers,
