ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATION: WEB TECHNOLOGY, Sloan School of Management, to provide technical strategizing and implementation for the MIT Sloan website. Will be part of a four-person team under the direction of the associate director of communication: web management. Will be the primary technical resource within the Web team, with a charge of keeping MIT Sloan on the forefront of Web technology and enabling MIT Sloan to realize the potential of Web 2.0. Will ensure Web pages are compliant with W3C technical and accessibility requirements. Will conceive and implement ways to use PHP, XHTML, CSS, XML, XSLT, and other tools to enhance the website. Will ensure cross-device, cross-platform, and cross-browser compatibility of website. Will provide technical support for Podcasting, RSS Feed, and Blogging initiatives. Will work with MIT Sloan Technology Services to implement databases to feed Web content, including the Faculty and Staff online directory. Will be the primary liaison with MIT Sloan Technology Services on technical issues. Will provide superior customer service to internal clients. Will balance the needs of internal clients with the importance of adhering to sound technical practices.<BR>

REQUIREMENTS: A college degree in Web Development or five or more years of experience in technical development of websites. Proficiency in HTML, XHTML, CSS, PHP, XML, XSLT, and Flash. Experience in database development and management. Audio/video editing experience a plus. Strong communication and customer service skills. Must be able to work effectively within a supportive team environment. Experience on Macintosh and PC platforms. MIT experience a plus.<BR>

ELECTRONIC CONTENT COORDINATOR, Sloan School of Management, to provide electronic communications support. Will be part of a four-person team--under the direction of the associate director of communication--devoted to managing electronic communications, including the 2,000-plus page web site. Will provide primary technical coordination for e-mail newsletters and HTML-formatted e-mail; develop and maintain Web pages using PHP, XHTML, and CSS; ensure electronic communications adhere to branding, editorial, usability, and technical requirements; provide superior customer service to internal clients with electronic communication needs; and balance the needs of internal clients with the importance of cohesive Sloan electronic communications.<BR>

REQUIREMENTS: a college degree and three or more years of experience in technical development of electronic communications; proficiency in HTML, XHTML, PHP, and CSS; familiarity with Javascript, XML, and Flash; ability to generate photos and graphics for the Web using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; and strong communication and customer service skills. Must be able to work effectively within a supportive team environment. Experience on Macintosh and PC platforms and with BBEdit, Acrobat Professional, Quark, Microsoft Word, and Excel needed. MIT experience a plus.<BR>
