This is a great "summer stock" opportunity for qualified candidates.<br style="clear: left;"><br style="clear: left;">The Company<br style="clear: left;">The theatre company was founded in 2004, with brand new facilities constructed in 2013.The Playhouse is a year round theatre operation that presents a six show professional summer season from June to early September, The Properties Designer will work closely with Designers, Directors and Stage Management to execute all hand props, furniture, and set dressing for the summer season.<br style="clear: left;"><br style="clear: left;">Responsibilities include but are not limited to:<br style="clear: left;">-Procuring(building or purchasing)all furniture, hand properties, and set dressings<br style="clear: left;">-Building furniture as needed<br style="clear: left;">-Applying all stains and paint treatments to furniture and properties as needed<br style="clear: left;">-Provide all rehearsal properties as needed<br style="clear: left;">-Attend all Production Meetings<br style="clear: left;">-Act as part of a run crew as needed.<br style="clear: left;">-Maintain a strict budget<br style="clear: left;">-Maintain a clean and safe work area<br style="clear: left;">-Assist in Load-in and change over of technical elements for each production.<br style="clear: left;"><br style="clear: left;">Qualifications:<br style="clear: left;">-Knowledge of carpentry and furniture building.<br style="clear: left;">-Ability to create props with Historical accuracy<br style="clear: left;">-A penchant for thriftiness with an eye towards design<br style="clear: left;">-Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a 17’ Box Truck.<br style="clear: left;">-Capacity to solve problems and good communication skills.<br style="clear: left;">-Maturity and understanding of the artistic process.<br style="clear: left;">-Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.<br style="clear: left;">-Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work quickly and accurately with attention to detail.<br style="clear: left;">-Basic knowledge of electrical wiring helpful<br style="clear: left;">-Basic knowledge of mold making helpful<br style="clear: left;">-Ability to lift 75lbs.<br style="clear: left;"><br style="clear: left;">The ideal candidate is self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and is able to maintain a high level of production values. Standard work days are Monday – Sat, 9:00 am-5:00 pm. The salary for this position is $275/week, plus housing (all utilities/internet included).
