<div dir="ltr">Please post and share-<div><br></div><div><div>Stock Manager/Stitcher Position</div><div>For: The Boston Conservatory Costume Shop</div><div>Location: 31 Hemenway St., Boston, MA 02115</div><div><br></div><div>Seeking a Stock Manager/Stitcher for the final semester of our 2017-18 performance season.</div><div>Approximately 37.5 hours/week. Dates of work are January 8 th 2018- May 11 th 2018. Note this is an</div><div>hourly non-exempt position.</div><div><br></div><div>Responsibilities:</div><div>Stock Manager: Works with Costume Shop Manager (CSM), Assistant Costume Shop Manager</div><div>(ACSM), and Stage Management (SM) to manage Costume Stockrooms/storage in varied campus</div><div>locations. Oversees the maintenance and organization of the stockrooms, arranging and keeping rental</div><div>appointments. In consultation with CSM, oversees Student Stock Managers, trains, advises, and corrects</div><div>as needs arise. Pulling costumes as needed for rehearsals and mainstage productions, as requested by</div><div>CSM or ACSM. Accept rental returns and close out records. Some money handling, bookkeeping</div><div>required. Plans and suggests future improvements for efficiency and safety.</div><div><br></div><div>Stitcher: Works with CSM, ACSM, and Draper/Stitchers to interpret professional costume</div><div>designs. Measurements, fittings, construction, alterations, tailoring, corsetry, instructing student</div><div>workers, laundry, crafting, dyeing, millinery, and organization of shop/fitting rooms as needed, amongst</div><div>other duties as assigned. We produce large cast Musical Theater, Opera, and Dance shows every year;</div><div>varied skill set required. Because of our creative, exciting, fast paced environment, our needs vary</div><div>greatly; flexibility is very important at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee Costume Shop.</div><div>Ideal candidate will balance duties with consultation and input from CSM, ACSM.</div><div><br></div><div>Job Requirements:</div><div>Must be able to climb ladders and lift up to 50 lbs. Bachelor Degree- BFA, concentration in Costume</div><div>Design, Theater/Production Design, Fashion Design, or Fashion/Costume History. Proficiency on</div><div>industrial machines a must. Pattern drafting and draping proficiency preferred.
