Scissor lift is heavy (2700 pounds) but you'd appreciate it working under a tension grid and moving to next location when hanging under tension grid without returning to deck. Painters appreciate larger deck. Battery power can become maintenance issue.

Genie #AWP-30S Single-man lift is smaller (though not with outriggers in place), electric powered so forgetting to charge it doesn't become an issue. Becomes a 2 person operation typically. Can be moved in a 1 ton pickup with 2 crew if necessary - about 850
pounds. UConn owns two - very useful when rigging.

Genie QS-20 - Platform only reaches to 19 feet - another remote control option, weight 2450 pounds - eliminates outrigger issues.

I’ve been asked to spec a personnel lift. We’ll be using in a proscenium /thrust with a 21 foot tall proscenium and in a studio theatre with a 20 foot tall wire tension grid. How tall am I going to want it to be to be useful in the proscenium/thrust
theatre? Do I want a mast style lift or a scissors type lift. Any opinions on this would be appreciated. Do any of you have a favorite manufacturer or model?
