Performing arts organizations using<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">wireless microphones must comply with the FCC's order and leave<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">the 700 MHz Band as soon as possible.<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">To aid in this process, the FCC has made available an online<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">resource for wireless microphone users that includes a<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">Manufacturers Equipment list of affected wireless microphone<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">systems and a Frequently Asked Questions section. You can<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">also call the main FCC switchboard at 1-888-CALL-FCC<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">(1-888-225-5322) and select Option #2 to speak with someone about vacating the 700 MHz Band.<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">In addition to the above, two member organizations of the<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">Performing Arts Alliance have created resources to help members<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">through this transition process:<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">* Association of Performing Arts Presenters<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">* Theatre<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">Communications Group<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">If you have not already done so, be sure to confirm the<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">frequencies on which your wireless microphones operate. If<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">they operate in the 700 MHz Band, consult the resources<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">above to verify if your equipment can be modified to<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">operate outside of the affected spectrum. Depending on<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">make and model, some of your equipment could be re-banded with a<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">new frequency range, so it is important to begin this process<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">immediately.</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Georgia, helvetica, clean, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 15px; "><br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">As you may remember, the 700 MHz Band frequencies are now<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">being used by public safety entities (such as police, fire, and<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">emergency services) and by commercial providers of wireless<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">services (such as wireless broadband services). The<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">wireless microphones that had been operating in the old TV<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">broadcast channels can cause harmful interference to these<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">public safety and wireless consumer services. Therefore,<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">all users of wireless microphones (or certain low auxiliary<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">stations) that operate on any of the frequencies in the 700 MHz<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">Band - including both licensed users (under Part 74) and<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">unlicensed users - now have to stop operating in this band.<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">The Performing Arts Alliance urges you to spread the word<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">about the June 12 deadline to vacate the 700 MHz Band to<br style="line-height: 1.22em; ">any colleagues affected by this decision.
