In order to implement change and advocate for students, we will need a passionate and qualified team, so we hope you consider joining us in the Undergraduate Association. Serving as Secretary, Treasurer, Chief of Staff, or Assistant Officer on Diversity provides a unique opportunity to collaborate with students, faculty, administrators, and staff to improve the undergraduate experience at MIT. We hope to create a dedicate team that is representative of our diverse student body and is passionate about student led change. </font></div><div class=""><span class="" style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';"><br class=""></span></div><div class=""><font face="Times New Roman" class="">Below is a brief description of each officer position. In addition, all officers have the opportunity to take on projects and initiatives of their own choosing.</font></div><div class=""><ul class=""><li class=""><b class="" style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';">Secretary </b><span class="" style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';">helps support the general operations of the organization and takes minutes at all meetings. In addition, the secretary develops and maintains communication channels within the organization and with all undergraduates.</span></li><li class=""><b class=""><font face="Times New Roman" class="">Treasurer </font></b><font face="Times New Roman" class="">oversees all budgeting and spending of the organization and works to ensure that the UA Finboard allocates funds fairly and effectively. The Treasurer also works with other UA Officers and administrators to examine MIT's finances and ensure that all student groups are receiving adequate resources.</font></li><li class=""><b class="" style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';">Chief of Staff </b><font face="Times New Roman" class=""> is tasked with appointing undergraduate nominees to all institute committees, faculty committees, and ad hoc committees throughout the year. Additionally, the Chief of Staff is responsible for assisting the President and VP in policy work surrounding student issues.</font></li><li class=""><b class="" style="font-family: 'Times New Roman';">Assistant Officer on Diversity </b><font face="Times New Roman" class="">meets regularly with senior administrators and student leaders to develop ongoing diversity and inclusion initiatives.
