M. Nelson is currently the dean of Colgate College in upstate New York.
She has been an administrator at Harvard, Cornell, and Syracuse. On
July 1st, she's replacing Chris Colombo as the Vice President for
Student Life at MIT. She's going to be working with the Chancellor on
important decisions about the future of dorm and Greek life, of student
activities, facilities, and support services. But before she does that,
she needs to get to know MIT.</p><p>We're hoping you can help with that.
We're on a committee that's preparing a document to introduce her to
some basic facts, but basic facts don't tell the MIT story. What is it
like to be an undergrad here? What do we do well? How could things be
better? What should Suzy Nelson visit when she gets here? How do you
interact with the Division of Student Life?</p><p>No matter what you
write about, no matter how much or little you write, we want your
perspective and your story to be included in the mix. It doesn't matter
if you write a few sentences, a restaurant list, or a three-page essay
with footnotes.
