As part of this vision he incorporated a large quantity of columns within the design. An interesting fact about the columns outside of lobby 10 is that the middle columns are further from the building than the edge columns by several inches. The columns are also slightly thicker at the base. Columns in the center have a wider gap between them. All of these "imperfections" in the symmetry of the column actually result from imperfections in our own vision so that architecture looks symmetrical to us.
