community, beyond the dorms directly involved, that interviews for Residential
Life Area Directors (RLADs) began on Monday, July 16th, and will continue through Thursday,
July 19<sup>th</sup>.</span></p>
<p style="margin-top:6.0pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent:.5in"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Garamond;color:black">As of today, the Housemasters of seven dorms
have expressed interest in the addition of RLADs to their House Teams in the
Fall. Included, as before, are Maseeh Hall, McCormick Hall, New House, Next
House, and Simmons Hall, with the recent additions of Burton-Conner and
MacGregor House. Because Burton-Conner and Maseeh Hall will retain their
current, live-in RLAs as their new RLADs, student representatives for the
search process were solicited from McCormick Hall, New House, Next House,
Simmons Hall, and MacGregor House.</span></p>
<p style="margin-top:6.0pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent:.5in"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Garamond;color:black">Students involved in the search process are
meeting with each RLAD candidate in small groups, separate from GRTs and
Housemasters. As outlined in the <a href="http://studentlife.mit.edu/sites/default/files/Timeline%20for%20Area%20Director%20Search%20Process.pdf">RLAD search timeline</a>, all participants will
provide the Senior Associate Dean for Student Life, Dr. Henry Humphreys, with
their candidate evaluation forms by Thursday, July 19<sup>th</sup>. As hiring
manager, Dean Humphreys will use the evaluations to make final decisions, with
offers extended to RLAD candidates on Friday, July 20<sup>th</sup>.</span></p>
<p style="margin-top:6.0pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;text-indent:.5in"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Garamond;color:black">Beyond the information we have available to
us at this time, we are expecting the release of a more detailed RLAD role
description from the Division of Student Life within the coming days. Further,
we expect more details regarding the status of RLAs for dorms without RLADs in
the Fall. Presently, it is our understanding that these dorms will not have
RLAs assigned to them and that their House Teams will be assisted by other
Residential Life Programs staff.</span></p>
