Undergrads,<br><br>Based on feedback received this past weekend about the restructuring process, a bill was passed in Senate yesterday to create a new UA Committee on Restructuring. In lieu of a student chair, the committee will have a faculty facilitator. Membership will also include delegates selected by the UA Senate, the Dormitory Council, the Interfraternity Council, and the Panhellenic Association.<br>
<br>Considerations of the committee will include the following:<br>- meeting with faculty and administrators to gather feedback on the UA restructuring<br>- engaging directly with students to ask about what they see as the role of their student government<br>
- coming up with alternative proposals for the restructuring of student government<br>- soliciting restructuring proposals from outside sources<br>- communicating with students about competing proposals<br>- deciding how to select and implement a final proposal<br>
<br>I'm optimistic the presence of an experienced faculty facilitator and the committee's broader scope will result in more productive committee meetings and ultimately a better model of student government for all undergrads. <br>
