Hello,

This e-mail is primarily directed to the approximately five people who shoot film.

1. ColorTek DropOff
I am planning to drop off color film to be developed at ColorTek on THIS FRIDAY (9/3). Put color film in the bin marked "Color Film Drop-Off" on the film shelf. Now that people are back for the semester, I'm going to try to make a monthly trip to ColorTek - but it may be a while until there's enough film to drop off again, so please bring in anything from the summer!

2. Scanning Your Film
Please scan your film. All of it. No, seriously. We have the nifty adaptor to make scanning an entire roll of film relatively painless (and it's much easier to scan your film before you've cut it up). If you don't scan your film, it will be much harder for Biyeun or me to go through what you've shot, and there's a much lower liklihood of your pictures making it into the book.

Look for an e-mail from Biyeun soon on photo submissions policy. From the film end of things, in short: either make contact sheets or scan all of your film at low resolution (500 dpi). Please keep all your scans separate in your folder on the server in a folder labeled "Film Scans" so that way we can find them easily. After you're done scanning/contacting, put your film in the drawer labeled "2011 Films and Slides."

3. Keeping Film Shelf Neat
Steph and I organized all of the film over the summer so it's easy to find what you're looking for and to see what we're low on so we can order more. Recently, the film shelf has been getting messy. As a general rule, please only take the film you're going to shoot and, if you're not going to shoot it, put it back - I've found color film on the shelf more than once.

4. Requests?
As soon as we set a budget at the next manboard meeting, I'm going to order some new film. Biyeun has commandeered the tiny fridge for sheet film, so we're definitely going to order some large format sheet film (8x10!) to play with. Please send any other requests for film (or anything else, if you know what I mean) to either Biyeun or me.
