Prof. Joshua Hochschild, Monsignor Robert R. Kline Professor of Philosophy at Mount St. Mary’s University, will be speaking on the topic of friendship. In previous eras, friendship was considered one of the most interesting and important topics for intellectual reflection--the Greeks even had a separate word for the type of love that friends share.
What does it mean to be a good friend? Is it enough just to have fun together? Are some friendships just using each other? What's the difference between roommate, neighbor, and true friend? Can adolescents really make friends for life? Should I make or choose my friends, or should friendship just happen? If there are different kinds of friends, are they equally worth having or making?

This lecture is free and open to the public. Hope to see you there!
