to be remembered at that Mass, send us the names to: catholic at mit.edu.

=== (2) Mass for Scientists ===

On Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 7:30 PM we will have a special Mass for Scientists
on the feast of Albert the Great. Fr. Nicanor Austriaco PhD '96, will be
the celebrant. Invited are also other Catholic scientists in the area, even
if they don't have an MIT connection.

=== (3) TCC Theology on Tap ===

We will be holding our very first TCC Theology on Tap on the 4th of
December at the Thirsty Ear Pub, doors open at 6.30 PM and we will begin at
7 PM. Discussion will be centered around the idea of 'morally guided
research' drawing heavily from Pope Francis' recent encyclical, Laudato Si.
Beside Fr. Dan we have confirmed our very own Josh Hester, Co-Chair of MIT
Sustainability, to discuss his thoughts on the encyclical. The reading for
this week can be found at http://www.brookings.edu
/research/papers/1996/08/childrenfamilies-akerlof. It discusses the concept
of Technology Shock (wikipedia.org/wiki/Technology_shock) applied to the
social issues of Out-Of-Wedlock births and is a good case study for the
unacknowledged 'power' that scientist and engineers have in society. Please
invite your friends along, since this discussion will be of interest to all
members of the MIT community. For more details please contact Adam Kuang (
aqkuang at mit.edu). *You have to be over 21 to enter the Thirsty Ear*

=== (4) Basic Course in Catholicism ===

This course will be held on Sundays at 2:30 PM in W11/ Small Dining Rm.

=== (5) So You Want to Be a Saint ===

Mon. at 5:15 PM in W11 Main Dining Room. Fr. Moloney leads a weekly
discussion-based class on a variety of themes regarding how to live out
every Christian’s call to be holy. Themes vary from week-to-week, ranging
from the practical to the highfalutin. Suggestions for class themes are
appreciated. Attendance at previous sessions is not required, nor is
extensive Catholic formation.

*=== *(6) Monday Night Discussions (MND) ===
