Non-TCC Events (Catholic and Interdenominational)

- Walk for Haiti
We'd love to have you and a group of MIT students at the walk on April 10.
We'll be meeting at the St. Paul's Courtyard in Harvard Square at 1:30 PM
for registration. All the information, directions, and pledge forms are
available online at www.wfh2005.org. All proceeds support Dr. Paul
Farmer's organization, Partners In Heath, and directly fund medical
services for deserving (but poor) Haitians.

- Shabbat with MIT Hillel
MIT Grad Hillel would like to invite you and your organization's
Graduate students to celebrate Shabbat with us. The Friday evening
traditions surrounding the Jewish Sabbath (Shabbat) include a festive meal
with extended family and friends complemented with rituals, celebration,
and camaraderie. The Sabbath dinner offers a welcome pause to the work
week, a time to take a breath, relax, and connect with others over a full
dinner.
Friday March 11th -- from 7:30 - 9:30 in the Hulsizer Room at Ashdown,
you are invited to a free dinner where you will learn about some of the
weekly rituals, meet new friends, and have a chance to relax after a week
in labs and classes. This dinner promises to be a great opportunity to
build a larger community through bringing together smaller MIT communities.
RSVPs are necessary so that we can create diverse table seating for
fruitful conversation.
Please email gradshabbat at mit.edu to RSVP by March 9th. We look forward
to seeing you there.

- Talk by Rick Warren
Rick Warren: Author of The Purpose Driven Life, Founding Pastor of
Saddleback Church
speaking on Election 2004: A New Spiritual Awakening?
Wednesday, March 9, 2005, 6:00 PM at the John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum - 79
JFK Street - Cambridge, MA
I'm writing with the exciting news that Pastor Rick Warren, best-selling
author of The Purpose-Driven Life and founder of Saddleback Church, will
soon be visiting Harvard University. On Wednesday, March 9, Pastor Warren
will speak at the Kennedy School's Forum at 6:00 pm. His talk will focus
on American religious communities and the significance of the 2004
elections. Whether or not you share Pastor Warren's beliefs, I thought you
would be interested to hear of his visit. In fact, I am hoping that you
will spread the word to others who may wish to attend.
