</a><font size=2><b><i>Pulpo & Luiza </b>are the most creative of the
today’s Argentine tango dancers and <br>
teachers. They<b> </b>have earned an international reputation teaching
and performing <br>
throughout Europe, the United States, Japan and South America.<br>
<br>
The dynamic <b>Pulpo Esbréz </b>is a third generation tanguero, who has
been dancing <br>
tango for nearly 18 years. His father and grandfather were both respected
bandoneon <br>
players, and his own feeling for the music is evident in his work. His
nickname, “el Pulpo”<br>
– the octopus, comes from his unique fluid style, which uses
complicated displacements, <br>
ganchos, enganches, and the intertwining of the dancers’ legs. His tango
steps were first <br>
practised with rock & roll which gave him tremendous agility and a
very relaxed, almost <br>
casual approach to his dance style. He is renowned in Buenos Aires and
all over the world <br>
as the “King of the Ganchos” for his ability and thorough understanding
of the leg work <br>
in tango. He has created and added innumerable movements to the tango
vocabulary, <br>
and is continually developing his innovative technique and style<br>
<b> <br>
Luiza Paes</b> has worked and taught with Pulpo since 1999, and she is
now recognized <br>
as an outstanding teacher in her own right, who is dedicated to her art
and her students. <br>
She teaches a creative technique that emphasizes the role of the follower
and her <br>
connection to the leader, exploring receptiveness and availability for
improvisation.<br>
