DJs of Argentine Tango Music to the first Chicago DJ “play-off” - </span><b style=""><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Monday,
January 1, 2007<span style=""> </span><span style=""> </span>7:30 p – 11:30 a at the first milonga of the New Year </span></b><span style="font-family: Verdana;">at <b style="">Mariposa<span style=""> </span> </b>( 1813
W Byron St. , Chicago , IL ). The milonga will start at 7:00 p and continue until 1:00 a, but we are limiting the DJ-playoff to a shorter period to allow adequate time for voting.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;">We
will play the <b style="">first 7-8 accepted
entrants</b> in approximately half-hour segments during the evening. Each
DJ will be <b style="">randomly assigned a unique
identifying symbol</b> which will be displayed on the DJ booth while your music
is playing and on the ballot. On the <b style="">ballot</b>,
we will print a brief (maximum 5 sentences) description of your <b style="">DJ-ing philosophy</b> or other
non-identifying information. <b style="">Voting will
take place at 11:30 p</b> (altho’ dancers who leave earlier also may vote). The
winner, who need not be present, will receive a relevant <b style="">gift certificate</b> (e.g., to Zival’s). </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 0.5in;"><b style=""><span style="font-family: Verdana;">All working or aspiring DJs are
eligible and welcome. <span style=""> </span></span></b><span style="font-family: Verdana;">This is your chance to test the popularity of your
regular mix or the dance-ability of music you might not have tried at your
milonga or to put together a selection of music you’d like to hear played at a
milonga.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 0.5in;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><u><span style="font-family: Verdana;">To enter (i.e., the
fine print):</span></u></p>
<ol style="margin-top: 0in;" start="1" type="1"><li class="MsoNormal" style=""><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Let Phoebe know you’re interested by emailing

approximately <b style="">30-40 minutes</b> of
music in <b style="">3 tandas</b>, of 3-4
songs, each separated by a 30-45 second Cortina. Each tanda should be
identified as Tango, Vals or Milonga rhythm; alternative music will be
accepted. Each CD should have 1 or 2 “tango”, and 1 “Vals” and/or 1
“Milonga sets (e.g., TTV, TTM, TVM).</span></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="margin-right: 0.25in;"><span style="font-family: Verdana;">Each submission
must have <b style="">complete identifying
information</b> of the music included, in order, along with the name and
contact information of the “DJ” as well as the DJ’s philosophy statement. Please
indicate if you want to remain anonymous should you win.</span></li><li class="MsoNormal" style=""><span style="font-family: Verdana;">When complete, email Phoebe again to arrange
delivery. We will <b style="">accept CDs on a
first come basis</b>. The final deadline will be at milonga Nuestro Tango
on Friday, December 29, 2006.</span></li><li class="MsoNormal" style=""><b style=""><span style="font-family: Verdana;">There
is no entry fee</span></b><span style="font-family: Verdana;">. Your CD will
be returned to you.</span></li><li class="MsoNormal" style=""><span style="font-family: Verdana;">We reserve the right to ask you to modify your
submission if a previously received CD has the same music, for example.</span></li></ol>
