ALICIA PONS & LUIS ALBERTO ROJAS RETURN TO CHICAGO


Alicia Pons and Luis Rojas return to Chicago following their participation in the 9th Annual Chicago Mini Tango Festival in April.  Their workshops will be on May 3rd and 4th, with a pre-milonga class on Friday, May 2 – before a special Milonga Rubia. We will attempt to gender balance the enrollment. You can sign up with a partner or as an individual IF you take the full 6 class package or purchase a full day pass.  If you come to an individual class you will need to bring a partner.  Alicia and Luis will be available for private lessons during their stay; either together or separately.  Please schedule early the private lesson because of their limited stay.

FRIDAY, MAY 2 – at Dance Connection (3117 N Clybourn Ave, Chicago) 
followed by a special Milonga Rubia (9:30 pm – 2:30 am) celebrating Taurean birthdays 8:00-9:15 pm   Special pre-milonga class         “Milonguero Techniques for Leaders and Followers” this class is FREE to purchasers of a full weekend workshop package; $25 if purchased separately Milonga entry is $10 b/4 10 pm or for FT students / $15 after 10 pm For non-class participants, milonga doors will not open until after class has finished

SATURDAY, MAY 3 – at American Tango Institute (325 N Hoyne, C-404, Chicago)
12:00-1:20 pm  A: Tango  –  Dynamics and Fluidity in D’Arienzo and Biaggi.
  1:40-3:00 pm  B: Milonga  –  Runs in different directions; Giros in double time.  
  3:20-4:40 pm  C:  Vals  –  Interpretation: Dissociation of the body; breathing, and how to lead.

SUNDAY, MAY 4 – at American Tango Institute (325 N Hoyne, C-404, Chicago)
12:00-1:20 pm  D: Tango  –  Tango Milonguero. Energetic movements. Creativity: changes of speed and direction.
  1:40-3:00 pm  E: Milonga  –  Transition from the milonga lisa and milonga traspie.  Compact giros.
  3:20-4:40 pm  F: Vals  –  Sacadas with speed. Linear and circular.

Private Lessons:  One Hour Private Lessons: The instructors will be available all day Thursday, Friday and Monday (May 1, 2 & 5) for private lessons. They are offering a special rate for private lessons to those students who register for their workshops; the rate for either instructor is $100/hr plus floor or $150 if you would like to take with both instructors.
