Dina Martinez was born in Buenos Aires and has a degree as a National
Classic Dance teacher. In 1987 she started studying tango with several
important teachers such as Gustavo Naveira and “Chicho” Frumboli. She
was part of the investigation group, led by Gustavo Naveira and Fabian
Salas, that generated a new understanding of and new vocabulary for
tango.

In 2004, along with Valencia Batiuk and Luciana Valle, she co-founded El Motivo Tango, reviving the tradition of tango practicas in Buenos Aires and providing dance instruction.

Dina teaches understanding of the technique, the mechanics, the
dynamics and the structure of tango. Working on more basic elements, the
concepts that are the foundation of the dance, we can become much
better dancers.
