Many of you are familiar with Tomas' creative and inspiring approach to
teaching tango. Join us for a special exploration of tango evolution,
starting with a lecture at Verdi on August 18 and a series of workshops on
Saturday, August 20th that will expand your understanding of the dance.
Tomas will be at the Beat on Monday, August 13.

For those of you interested, Tomas will teach a free class on Tango as
Walking Meditation on August 17th in Bolinas CA. Info below.

Lecture + exploration at Verdi Club
"Tango Evolution”
Originality in motion & understanding the development of tango styles. This
unique class will combine discussion, video, and dance exploration. (All
levels)
8-9pm, $15 class and milonga

*Workshops at La Pista*
Join Tomas and Shorey as they challenge you with a new (old!) view of
creativity in tango, then explore with them the dynamically different styles
of two of the most influential barrios, including special characteristic
steps of some of the most famous dancers of the time.

1-2:30pm    Golden Era Undisclosed Construction Tools - Shorey's fav class

2:45-4:15pm    Estilo del Norte: Timing Lags from Saavedra
4:30-6pm   Estilo del Sur: Power Winding from Avellaneda

Recommended: Tomas will give a lecture on the origins of tango at the Verdi
Club on Thurs, August 18. If you are interested in the history of tango (or
if you think you know it all!) we highly recommend you go. 8-9pm at Verdi
