BIO of Chan Park:
Chan Park is a tango dancer and instructor in Buenos Aires.â As
instructor, he has presented the TangoZen workshops for years in the
United States and Canada, throughout Europe, including Germany, the
United Kingdom, Holland, France, and Switzerland, among others, and in
Asia including China, Singapore, Korea, and India. He also has offered
the workshops in renowned meditation wellness centers: Omega Institute
(New York, USA), Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health (Massachusetts,
USA), Ranch La Puerta (Baja California, Mexico), and Villa Unspunnen
(Interlaken, Switzerland).
You can watch a sample of the workshop at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZGXS5jbaB4

He published a book titled "Tango Zen: Walking Dance Meditation" in
English in the United States in 2005. A bilingual version
(Spanish-English) of the book was also published in 2008 by Editorial
Kier in Buenos Aires.

His teaching story has been featured in Pagina 12, KinÃ, BA Tango,
EntreCasa, and Uno Mismo in Buenos Aires Tangodanza in Germany .

He also specializes in "milonguero" style tango. In fact, with Eugenia
Park, he established a community of tango milonguero in Washington, DC
area between 1999 and 2005. Since 2 years ago, he has been residing
and teaching in Buenos Aires and is well recognized as a respected
instructor and dancer in all of the best milongas in Buenos Aires.
You can watch an exhibition of my dance at:

To promote the milonguero style tango, not only does he teach classes
but also he hosts a weekly practice session in collaboration with
MÃnica Paz in Buenos Aires, called "PractiMilonguero," where one can
come and practice to establish confidence in dance like milonguero.â

With first-hand experience and knowledge of diverse cultures in North
America, Europe, Asia and now in Buenos Aires, he is eager to share
the essence of Argentine tango with those who are interested in
learning the way tango is enjoyed in Buenos Aires. For example,
PorteÃos (referring to those who live in Buenos Aires) frequently say,
âWe PorteÃos dance tango with heart.â Unlike the general perception
that tango is about making flashy and provocative movements with
complicated figures/steps, his direct experience of living and dancing
with the experienced dancers for years in Buenos Aires has led him to
conclude that tango is about âfeeling,â inspired by music and shared
between partners through embrace while moving in unison.

He teaches techniques to help beginning dancers internalize the
concepts of tango faster and to improve the experience for those
dancers who are already familiar with tango by enhancing their
sensitivity. His ultimate goal is to enable any tango dancers to dance
in the milongas of Buenos Aires with comfort. His techniques are
rooted in the martial arts like Tai Chi and yoga and his belief is
that tango is a feeling that is shared between the partners while
dancing. His philosophy about tango has been deeply influenced by his
experience in the milongas in centro of Buenos Aires and by Maestros
such as the late Ricardo Vidort.
