TangoZen Workshop with Chan & Eugenia Park

Chan Park has presented TangoZen workshops in many tango communities
in the United States, Canada, Europe (Germany, United Kingdom,
Holland, France, Switzerland, Italy, Latvia, Russia, Lithuania,
Finland, etc.), in Asia (China, Singapore, Korea, India), and in South
America, since 1999. His TangoZen workshops are ongoing in meditation
centers, such as Omega Institute (Rhineback, New York), Kripalu Center
(Massachusetts), Rancho La Puerta (Baja California, Mexico), and Villa
Unspunnen (Interlaken, Switzerland).

Chan’s book, "Tango Zen: Walking Dance Meditation" was published in
2005. A bilingual, Spanish-English edition of the book was published
by Editorial Kier in 2008, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Limited
editions were sold out in Italian and Korean. Pagina 12, Kiné, BA
Tango, EntreCasa, and Uno Mismo in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and
Tangodanza in Germany published interviews with Chan describing
TangoZen philosophy and teaching method.
Chan presently lives and teaches in Buenos Aires. PractiMilonguero
with Monica Paz is a weekly event organized to promote and preserve
the traditional tango of Buenos Aires, Tango Milonguero.

You can watch two video clips: one is from his workshop in Rome and
the other his
dance in Kassel, Germany, both in April this year.

Chan will share techniques to help beginning dancers to value tango
music and its interpretation by movements, and to improve the
experience for those dancers who are already familiar with tango by
enhancing their sensitivity to partner, navigation in the environment
of a milonga and music. Chan’s knowledge and appreciation of tango has
been influenced by his dancing experience in the traditional milongas
of central Buenos Aires and by the late Ricardo Vidort.

During the classes, some video clips and the trailer of Chan’s
documentary film on tango will be featured as class materials.
