Dear friends of Tango,

this year the Tangofestival Berlin will take place on 5 days with 5 concerts
in the course of the Tango balls.

A highlight will be the concert of Stazo Mayor on Monday, June 1, 2009 with
two legendary bandoneon players of the 1940s, Luis Stazo and Alfredo
Marcucci, and with the famous singer Alberto Podesta, who already sang with
the orchestras of Carlos di Sarli and Miguel Calo in 1942.

Further invited Orchestras are: Sexteto Milonguero, Quinteto Beltango with
the bandoneon player Carlos Buono, Otros Aires and Las Bordonas.

8 couples will perform during the balls of the festival and give 48
workshops altogether. All workshops will take place at Ballhaus Rixdorf,
Kottbusserdamm 76.

The couples will be: Moira Castellano y Gastón Torelli, Eugenia Parrilla y
Pablo Inza, Céline Ruiz y Damián Rosenthal, Mercedes 'Mecha' Espinel y el
Flaco Dany, Natalia Hills y Gabriel Misse, Maria Mondino y Ismael Ludman,
Judith Preuss y Constantin Rüger, Pedro Abregú y
Katharina Sigel.
As DJ highlight for the openign ball on Thursday, May 28, 2009 we could win
Felix Picherna,
who has been putting on tango music for more than 50 years. Further DJs will
be: James Bates, Jens Dörr and Hagen Schröter.

In the afternoons,  there will be readings on tango at the Tango Café.

The early bird rebate of 10% will be valid until April 15, 12:00.

The International Tango Festival Berlin 2009 takes place under the auspices
the Governing Mayor of Berlin, Klaus Wowereit, and of the general direccion
for cultural affairs of the state chancellery of the Republic of Argentina.
