Feb. 29, Mar. 1 & 2, 2008: Argentine Tango Workshops with Hugo ‘Gato’ Valdez & Andrea Monti from Buenos Aires, returning to
 Chicago. Gato’s intensity and Andrea’s endless, flashing legs will again delight us as we marvel at and learn from their exquisite Argentine
 Tango expertise.

Gato & Andrea will provide a spectacular performance on Friday,
 February 29, 2008 at milonga Nuestro Tango at the Latvian Community Center (4146 N Elston Ave @
 Hamlin) with a pre-milonga class for ALL levels of dancers at a special price
 of $15 (separate from milonga $15 entry) for intro with Gato & Andrea;
 “Alternative Camidas: various possibilities for walking - pausing, musicality, half turns, navigation, changing embrace, etc.” Class:
  7:45 p – 9:00 p; Milonga  9:00 p – 1:00 +a featuring light buffet and special Leap Night activities; BYOB.

Intermediate & Advanced Tango Workshops with Gato Valdez & Andrea Monti on Sat., March 1 and Sun., March 2, 2008.

  1:00 - 2:30 p, “Technique & Adornos: elegant walking, pivots & ochos, turns”;
  2:45 - 4:15 p, “Tango  I: sacadas & barridas, double time steps,combinations”; and,
  4:30 - 6:00 p, “Vals I: cross system, double time, turns, changes of front”.
Sun., March 2 – at Café Duvall (2257 W 23rd   Place, Chicago): 
  1:00 - 2:30 p, “Milonga: increasingly complex combinations with syncopation; 
  2:45 - 4:15 p,   “Tango II: double turns with stops & entradas,
 voleos & adornos; and, 
  4:30 – 6:00 p, “Vals II: combinations with turns, syncopation, displacements”.
Followed by the Sunday Opposites Attract practica from 6:00 – 8:00 p; note the special time – practica will be guided by Gato & Andrea and free to anyone who takes 3 or more workshops and the regular price ($10 at the door, $8 with reservation) to all others.

Workshop Pricing: $30 at the door for 1 workshop or w/o reservation; $170 for ALL 6 workshops plus Friday class, IF paid by Sun., Feb. 17. 
Complete pricing with reservations: 1 workshop = $30 ($29 if pre-paid by Sun. Feb. 17); any 2 = $59 ($57); 3 = $87 ($84); 4 = $114 ($110); 5 = $140 ($135); 6 = $165 ($155); and, TOTAL including Friday’s pre-milonga class - $180 ($170).
