Chicago Mini Tango Festival –Final Update 

Tomorrow is the start of the 2008 Chicago Mini Tango
Festival (www.chicagotangofestival.com).  The Festival
will be held at the University of Chicago from April
18-20, 2008.  The instructors for the Festival include
Pocho and Nely (Buenos Aires), Ruben Harymbat (Buenos
Aires), Silvina Valz and Oliver Kolker(Buenos Aires),
and Alicia Pons (Buenos Aires). Djs include Robin
Thomas from New York, Robert Hauk from Portland, Ramji
V from Ann Arbor, and Ilene Marder from Woodstock, New

Tonight, Alicia Pons and Silvina Valz will be giving
classes
in Hyde Park at the University Church at 5655 S.
University Ave., 2nd
floor, Chicago, Il 60637. Alicia Pons will teach a
class "Introduction to Movement " from 7:00pm to
8:30pm. Silvina Valz will teach a class "Milonga Lisa"
from 8:30pm to 10:00 pm. Each class is open to all and
will cost $25 per class. After the classes Thursday,
we plan to go to Café Duvall where Robert Hauk is
scheduled to guest DJ.

Private Lessons
Most of the teachers will be giving privates. There
will be limited number of privates during the
festival, so if you are interested in a private lesson
please contact Jacqui Cahill at 773-865-9523.  Some of
the teachers will be also here on Monday and part of
the week and private lessons can be scheduled for
those times. 

Master class
Pocho and Nely will be teaching the Master Classes:
"Secrets the milongueros"). Registration in the master
classes will be restricted to advanced dancers;
limited enrollment which requires purchase of a

Pricing & Registration
We are still accepting registrations for festival
passes for leaders and couples registering
together. In order to achieve a satisfying gender
balance, we are sorry but can no longer accept
registration for festival passes from followers. There
is a milonga pass that will allow you to attend all 6
milongas (a $25 savings).  For pricing and

sure to indicate your level of dance (beginner,
intermediate, advanced) and also indicate which
workshops you intend to attend. This will greatly help
us with our planning.

We have an exciting lineup of vendors including the
