The dancers and musicians from Tango Buenos Aires AND Diva Boutique will join us tonight at milonga Nuestro Tango, Inc. In addition to a showcase by visiting instructors Murat & Michelle Erdemsel, at least one of the Tango Buenos Aires couples will dance for us. milonga Nuestro Tango is THE place to be in Chicago on Friday, Sept. 28th!!!

Murat & Michelle Erdemsel - who delighted us during TangoJoven in July - will teach a pre-milonga all levels class: "Find the magic in the music with an enhanced embrace"; the class begins at 7:30 p and has a separate $15 cost.  They will showcase around 11:30 p (and may be joined by other visiting performers). There will be no ‘free’ fundamentals class by Valentina & Phoebe on or Sept. 28.

Murat & Michelle, who embody elegance & romance, are 3 teaching classes on Saturday at Dance Center Chicago (3868  N Lincoln Ave - 1 block East of Mariposa and just South of  Images). We had so much fun dancing & talking with the cast of Tango Buenos Aires last night during a post-performance party at Café Duvall! They accepted our invitation to join us tonight at milonga Nuestro Tango!

milonga Nuestro Tango, Inc. is danced the LAST Friday of EVERY month at The Latvian Community Center (4146 N. Elston Ave., Chicago) from 9:00 p to 1:00+ a. The hostesses - Valentina Cisar, Carmen Pinto &/or Phoebe J. Grant - provide a light buffet but BYOB; the cover for the milonga is $15. The remaining Nuestro Tango milongas in 2007 are: October 26, November 30, and December 28.

The most famous Tango band on currently on planet Earth - COLORTANGO ORCHESTRA, directed by maestro Roberto Alvarez - will be make its Midwest debut on Sunday, Sept. 30.  After the performance at Christian Heritage Academy (315 Waukegan Road, Northfield, Illinois 60093), you will be able to meet the orchestra during the post-concert milonga. CDs available for purchase (great opportunity to get one signed). The concert begins at 7:00 p (doors open at 6:30 p).  Admission for the Milonga (from 9:00 p until around 11:00 p) is included with concert ticket price $25-$55 (assigned seating).

One of the most elegant and popular dance couples in North America, Murat & Michelle Erdemsel will be in Chicago for this weekend. They are our special guests for ColorTango concert-show on Sunday.

Murat was born in Istanbul. Michelle grew up on the Big Island of Hawaii. Somehow, from literally opposite ends of the earth they managed to meet half way in New York City. They met in the milonga and that is where their dance continues to develop with a strong emphasis on embrace, musicality, and improvisation.  They are an elegant and playful couple, beautifully connected and embodying the romantic notion of two moving as one. Murat's style of teaching gives students the tools to grow on their own. Coming from a classical art education he brings a fresh, holistic approach to the art of dancing tango. Michelle brings to the partnership a wealth of dance training in many disciplines with a focus on technique for injure free dancing. 

Murat & Michelle are warm, attentive, entertaining and accessible to students. Their enthusiasm for the dance is contagious and spreading as they travel to teach at most of the major festivals in the U.S. Both are experienced performers and together are developing a unique style all their own - www.muraterdemsel.com. 

On Saturday, there will be a 3-class workshop is designed by Murat & Michelle as progressive manner to help dancers to refine their technique connection with the partner and musicality skills.
