Preparations for the 4th Annual Close Embrace Tango Fiesta Nov 8-11 in
Urbana (in less than 2 weeks!!) are in full gear. So far we know there will
be dancers coming from IL, IN, MI, WI, MN, IA, MO, and TN. This promises to
be the largest, most diverse, and best Urbana CE Fiesta yet. Full Fiesta

Some details are elaborated below.


(1) Advance Registration Deadline - Fri Nov 2

To quality for discount passes, Advance Registration must be received by
Friday Nov 2, i.e., within the next week. Advance registration / on site
registration prices for passes are as follows:

Weekend Pass (Fri-Sat-Sun): $125 / $135
Weekend Pass (students): $65 / $75

Fundamentals Pass (Fri-Sat):  $70 / $75
Fundamentals Pass (students): $40 / $45

Fundamentals Plus Pass (Fri-Sat-Sun): $100 / $110
Fundamentals Plus Pass (students): $55 / $60

Friday Pass: $20 / $25
Friday Pass (students): $10 / $15

Saturday or Sunday Pass: $70 / $75
Saturday or Sunday Pass (students): $40 / $45

On site registration for individual workshops: $25, $15 students

Milongas: Friday & Sunday Brunch: $10 each / Saturday and Sunday Pizza
Party: $15 each


Advance Registration is recommended for the Early Bird Thursday night 2 hr
workshop on Communication with Hsueh-tze Lee. The cost is $25, $15 for
students. Enrollment in this workshop is limited to 15 men and 15 women and
will close when this number is reached.


(2) Instructors & DJs

Our team of nationally and internationally recognized tango instructors and
DJs:

Hsueh-tze Lee (Boston) has almost 20 years of tango experience and has
taught tango in the US, Argentina, Canada, Mexico, and Singapore. She is a
regular instructor at the Denver close embrace tango festivals.

Christopher Nassopoulos & Caroline Peattie (San Francisco) have 25 years of
tango experience and numerous trips to Buenos Aires between them. They are
also regular instructors at the Denver close embrace tango festivals.

Maximiliano Gluzman (Buenos Aires) has danced tango for over 10 years living
in Buenos Aires and is currently an instructor at Susana Miller's Tango
Academy in Buenos Aires. Maximiliano made his US teaching debut earlier this
year at the Chicago Milonguero Tango Festival.

Ramu Pyreddy (Washington DC) was one of the founding members of the
University of Michigan tango club, the largest university tango club in the
US. He has taught tango there and at numerous locations around the US,
including the Denver close embrace tango festivals. He is one of the most
sought after DJs for milongas at US tango festivals.

Heather Whitehead (Ann Arbor) has been a tango instructor for the University
of Michigan tango club for several years.

Ron Weigel and Susana Vazques Weigel (Urbana) have danced tango for almost
10 years and have been tango instructors in the hosting Urbana tango
community for over 6 years. Ron has been a DJ at Urbana milongas for 7
years. Ron and Susana are regular travelers to Buenos Aires.


(3) Choice of workshops:

In each workshop session, classes are arranged from lower to higher levels
(on registration form and on webpage). Only the technique oriented
Fundamentals workshops (level 1) are available to those purchasing the
Fundamentals Passes. The workshops also tend to increase in level of
difficulty from one session to the next over the course of the weekend.


(4) Non-dance Events:

Sat Pre-Mionga: Ramu Pyreddy's audio-visual presentation of tango musicality
Sun Noon: Ramu Pyreddy workshop on DJing for Milongas
Sun 5:45 PM: Presentation of Susana El Pial Tango documentary video of
milonga life in Buenos Aires


(5) Conveniences:

All festival events in one modern dance facility
