Hello Dancers of Chicago
Tango Life Inc is proud to present the Tango Life Dance and Education Center Tuesday July 10, 2007. Tango Life Inc. is headed up by Ernest Williams an innovative dancer and teacher of Argentine Tango who is dedicated to contributing to the world of Tango by providing opportunities and presenting concepts that are rare or unique. Ernest is usually the one who says what everyone is thinking. In this case he is offering solutions to what he sees as missing in Tango education and to the frequent complaints heard across the world. Tango Life Inc. is dedicated to helping each student find their own style in the dance. Ernest’s system helps his students put their own stamp on the dance and gives them the tools to be able to dance with anyone, anywhere, anytime.
The center is located at 601 N. Western Ave Chicago, IL (at the corner of Ohio and Western in Ukrainian Village.) Registration for the series will happen on the first day of the series. If you want to attend the exciting Thursday Level II&III series, you must attend at least one of the previous classes or take a private lesson or otherwise meet with Ernest in person. This will be the easiest time to get in so don’t hesitate to act now.
The new website www.tangolifeinc.com is under construction, but will soon have the calendar and other pertinent updated information. The Monday classes will not start right away. Further notice on the Monday schedule is forthcoming. For more info call Ernest at 757-630-5949 or email him at ernest at tangolifeinc.com

  Serious Thursdays (series)
Time: 7:30-8:45pm
Level: Levels I&II
Price: $60
Entrance: Registration for a 5-week series
Prerequisite: None
Requirements: Commitment to Tango
Want to train intensively to get the best results possible? Willing to attend class consistently and improve at an accelerated pace? Tired of forgetting what you just “learned” in class? This approach is for you! Each series will cover particular Tuesday level I topics in depth and will stress repetition, retention and proficiency. Every student will learn both roles equally as well. These series will take the rifle approach rather than the shotgun approach that is taken in most group classes. Topics will vary less per class in favor of focus to attain retention and proficiency. This class is intended to be more “work” than “fun” although students should feel a sense of accomplishment and progress At times you may want to skip a week, but as long as you are committed to getting the best results in the shortest amount of time, you will not miss a class. These series are designed to create intermediate dancers in a shorter period of time. Private and semi private
lessons in conjunction with these series are strongly encouraged to be able to keep up with the class or to become eligible for the Level II class sooner.
“You’re not doing it well until you are doing it well, and you will keep doing it until you do it well.” That’s it. Tango Life Inc is committed to your excellence!
Class attendance will be limited so a waiting list will be created when necessary. Those already attending a series will need to register in advance to not lose their spot for the next series. Each series will cover different topics, and it is recommended that students take as many series as they can at least until they qualify for the Level II series.

  Serious Thursdays
Time: 8:45-10:00pm
Level: Levels II&III
Price: $75
Entrance: Registration for a 5-week series
Prerequisite: Student recommendation and/or teacher invitation
Requirements: Commitment to Tango. Advanced-Intermediate or above ability in Tango.
Note: Regular Attendance to Thursday Level I series and the Monday Level III class are the best ways to get into this series, but regular attendance to any of the classes or private lessons could also result in an invitation to join this group. This will be the series that you want to get in and stay in for a long time. Once you are in this group, you don’t want to risk losing your spot by missing too many classes. Payment for the series is not enough. Attendance is very important. Missing too many classes may result in losing your spot for the next series to the next in line.
  Content
Like the Monday advanced drop in class, this series will cater to those who have achieved a level of competence that allows them to explore various topics in a level of depth that you typically only get in private lessons. This is the next best thing to one-on-one training. It will follow the same format and philosophy as Thursday Level I but will cover the vast range of topics that can be covered in tango. This also will be a virtual think tank of Tango, Milonga, Vals and Canyengue, where participants are encouraged to delve deep into Tango movement theory, develop Tango philosophies and create whole knew concepts. This class is great for current and aspiring teachers and performers of Tango or those who just want to grow with their peers and not get left behind. I have new concepts unique to the world that I will unveil here first. Participants in this class could be the first to learn these advanced styles and contribute to the development of these new concepts.
