[Tango-A] NA-C: Urbana IL: Feb 9-11: Alicia Pons, Robert Hauk Milonguero Tango Weekend

The weather will be cold but clear this weekend in Urbana, but the
dancers at the Milonguero Tango Weekend with Alicia Pons & Robert Hauk
will be filled with warmth and friendliness. There will be a
collection of great dancers from all over the Midwest waiting to dance
with you. All events are at the Phillips Recreation Center, 505 W
Stoughton, Urbana.

Although the deadline for advance registration discounts have passed,
we will still have available the Milonguero Training Pass for those
new to the close embrace milonguero style tango. For $60 ($40
students) this includes:

- 2 milongas: Friday & Saturday nights
+ Friday night pre-workshop, either:
- "Intensive Introduction to Tango in Close Embrace" (7:30-9:30 PM)
with Ron & Susana, resident instructors of the Tango Society of
Central Illinois, for those with less than 6 hrs instruction in tango
in close embrace or, for those with > 6 hrs instruction:
- "Milonguero Tango Technique for Women" with Alicia Pons (8-9:30 PM), or
- "Milonguero Tango Technique for Men" with Robert Hauk
+ Saturday afternoon workshop (1:30-4:45 PM) with Robert Hauk "The
Core of Milonguero Style Tango".

The Sunday workshop "Tango for the Women's Enjoyment: Leader &
Follower Interaction" (1-4:15 PM; $50 per person) is still open on a
limited basis ($50, $35 students) as follows:
- Couples will be admitted to the workshop
- Dancers without partners will be put on a waiting list and admitted
as pairs (one man and one woman) in order of sign-up to maintain
gender parity.

Dancers may register freely for the following individual events:

- Friday night:

7:30-9:30 PM "Intensive Introduction to Tango in Close Embrace" with
Ron & Susana ($15, $10 students)
8-9:30 PM: "Milonguero Tango Technique for Women / Men with Alicia /
Robert ($20, $15 students)
- Admission to subsequent milonga is included in workshop admission.
- 9:30 PM - 1 AM: Friday night milonga (DJ Ron) $10

- Saturday:

 1:30-4:45 PM
- "The Core of Milonguero Style Tango" with Robert ($40, $25 students)
- "Men & Women's Strategies and Technique for Managing the Crowded
Dance Floor" with Alicia ($40, $25 students)

  8-9:30 PM
- "Switching between Forward and Backward Movements: Men & Women's
Technique for Change of Direction" with Robert ($20, $15 students)
-  9:30 PM - 1:30 AM: Milonga (DJ Robert) $15


This is going to be another great milonguero tango weekend in Urbana.
