The special tango weekend with Alicia PONS of Buenos Aires is just 
ten days away and we already have registrations completed for many 
tango enthusiasts especially by the groups coming from out of town!

Weekend Workshops and Milongas with Alicia Pons of Buenos Aires, June 9-11

About Alicia PONS:

Alicia Pons' ability to imbue the role of the woman with verve and 
style has made her one of the most sought after female partners in 
Buenos Aires milongas. She has a highly refined technique, and her 
foot play and sensual seduction are done with humor and artistry. 
Alicia has taught for the last several years with Cacho Dante, with 
whom she has frequently performed. She was trained in classical dance 
from an early age, and her first tango teachers were Graciela 
Gonzalez, whose women's technique has shaped her precise footwork, 
and Tete Rusconi, one of the most renowned milongueros of his 
generation. In her teaching, Alicia emphasizes the woman's ability to 
not just follow, but to be an equal in the dance.

All weekend events will be held at the Triangle Dance Studio in 
Durham (near RTP, directions:

2 Milongas (8 hours of dancing) and 7 Workshops ( 10.5 hours of 
lessons) over the weekend of June 9-11:
    * Friday, June 9
        * 8:30 - 10:00 pm          Workshop 1 - What Women Want from 
Men: Secrets of becoming a memorable leader!
        * 10:00 pm - 1:00 am    Friday Milonga (DJ: Daniel Arredondo 
from Charlotte)
    * Saturday, June 10
        * 12:00 pm                    registration & warm up
        * 12:30 - 2:00 pm           Workshop 2 - Women's Adornments: 
How to transform presence into grace and style with adornments and 
the precise use of feet and ankles.
        * 2:15 - 3:45 pm             Workshop 3 - Mastering Body 
Language: Talking with your body through clear weight changes, 
balance, shared axis, and connection to your partner.
        * 4:15 - 6:00 pm             Workshop 4 - Stop Steps: 
Creative variations when the line of dance halts. Use of rhythm steps 
(amague or fakes) that can go from tango to milonga.
        * 9:00PM - 2:00 am        Milonga de Tangophilia (DJ: Jason Laughlin)
    * Sunday, June 11
        * 12:30 - 2:00 pm            Workshop 5 - Milonga Milonguero: 
Dance milonga like the milongueros & milongueras in Buenos Aires. Use 
of amagues, dancing in crowded spaces.
        * 2:15 - 3:45 pm              Workshop 6 - The Seductive 
Conversation Continues: A continuation of Alicia's most popular 
class. Men, learn how to please a woman on the dance floor! More on 
creativity in pauses and silences.
        * 4:15 - 5:45 pm              Workshop 7 - Combinations: 
Ochos with pivots, boleos and sacadas in milonguero style; respecting 
the space on the dance floor.

Registration and Pricing Information

The Early Registration Deadline is Thursday , June 1st. To qualify 
for the Early Registration Discount, payments should be received on 
or by this date whether you mail a check or use Paypal.

Payments received before or on June 1:
Full Package (includes 7 Workshops and 2 Milongas):$150/person 
($110/college or grad. student w/ID)
Any individual Workshop:  $25/person ($15/college or grad. student w/ID)
Friday Milonga:  $10/person ($7/college or grad. student w/ID)
Milonga de Tangophilia (Saturday):  $12/person ($10/college or grad.

Payments received after June 1 and/or at the door:

Refund Policy:
Before the early registration deadline: We can refund the full payment.
Before the date of the event (class, practica or milonga): We can 
refund 50% of the payment for events that you will not be able to attend.
For a refund, you must contact us at Tangophilia at 919-361-5145 or 
919-423-7681 24 hours before the date of the event. NO e-mails, 
please, as we won't have time to check e-mails on time to be able to 
refund you!
NO REFUNDS will be given if you cannot attend the event but tell us 
on or after the date of the event.

Accommodations for tango travelers:
  We have limited availability to stay with the local tangueros on 
"first come first serve" basis. Please contact 
"gulden at tangophilia.com" if you'd like to stay with a local host.

Hotels:
Most hotels located on South Miami Blvd. are close to the dance 
studio, at ~5 mins driving distance.
Using http://travel.priceline.com/ and looking for hotels in the RTP 
(Research Triangle Park) area could give you the best deal.
