Celia Blanco has one of the most popular milongas in Buenos Aires (ask the
milongueros) with the best music by Dany Borelli as resident deejay. Due to
more than her share of problems with the city inspectors, her milonga has
been open only six months since January 1, 2005. The process of rebuilding
the most popular milonga in 2004 has begun. Celia's attracts an over-55
crowd.

Mondays -- 10:30pm to 3am.
This is an ideal night for those who aren't ready to deal with crowded
floors. The attendance last night was very light, and the floor had only a
few couples dancing. It was enjoyable listening to the music and chatting
with friends. Mondays would be a good night for first-time visiting
couples.

Wednesdays -- 6pm to 2am.
Emilio Lopez Varela and Juan Carlos Oviedo are Sunday night regulars at
Celia's, but they have joined forces to open Tanguisimo this week. Dany
will be in charge of providing great music as always.

Fridays -- 4pm to 9pm and 11pm to 4am
Friday afternoons offer another opportunity for newcomers to get their feet
wet on an open floor with great music. Friday nights, hosted by Celia, have
more dancers.

Saturdays -- 4pm to 9pm and 11pm to 4am
Emilio and Juan Carlos run the afternoon milonga. This was THE milonga of
the week before the Cromagnon fire. I'm hoping they will revive it. Celia
hosts the evening milonga which attracts couples and singles.

Sundays -- 6:30pm to 12:30am
This is my favorite night. Many regulars from years ago still sit at the
same tables. It's the only night, though, that Dany isn't around. Bibi
began her apprenticeship with Dany three years ago, and at 23 she must be
one of the youngest DJs in BsAs. She does an excellent job.
