Gustavo Santaolalla has produced a documentary film in which he invited all
the great musicians and singers of tango to record a CD. The film includes
Emilio Balcarce, Carlos Garcia, Atilio Stampone, Jose Libertella, Osvaldo
Berlinghieri, Horacio Salgan, Leopoldo Federico, Virginia Luque, Lagrima
Rios, Alberto Podesta, Juan Carlos Godoy, Osvaldo Requena, Fernando Suarez
Paz, Emilio de la Pena, Oscar Ferrari, Nelly Omar, Ubaldo de Lio, Mariano
Mores--the who's who of tango, all still living with the exception of
Libertella. No one is younger than 70.

A short preview of this documentary has been shown during the year on the
Film & Arts channel in Buenos Aires. Santaolalla is preserving an important
history of tango from which all future tango musicians can benefit.
Santaolalla won an Oscar for his music in the movie Brokeback Mountain.

The premiere of Cafe de los Maestros will take place at the Teatro Colon in
Buenos Aires on August 24. www.tangodata.gov.ar
