About Oliver Kolker
-------------------
Born in New York City, Oliver Kolker grew up in Argentina.
Oliver began dancing Tango in 1997, when he felt he was
growing apart from a former girl friend. Inspired by his
grandmother Beatriz, an amateur tanguera and singer, Oliver
felt that the tango embodied romance, contact and dialogue
- the elements of life and relationships. Becoming
obsessed with the dance, he began studying with Miguel
Angel Zotto, Osvaldo Zotto, Roberto Herrera, Graciela
Gonzalez, Carlos Gavito, Carlos Copello, Horacio Godoy, and
Luis Solanas. Oliver started teaching in 1999 at "La
viruta", a famous tango school and milonga in the city of
Buenos Aires, and eventually taught & performed in the most
prestigious tango houses and schools around Argentina.

Oliver has also produced teaching videos, included those of
the famous Mora Godoy. Oliver entered the World tango
championship in 2004 with Veronica Palacios winning a spot
in the finals. In 2005 Oliver began teaching in New York
with Luna Palacios, Veronica's sister. Together they took
the city and country by storm, teaching at this years’
Valentango Festival in Portland to great reviews. His
primary goal is to teach people to feel and dance tango in
the way that he was taught, with passion, knowledge, care
and more than anything, with TRUTH.
