Dear Tangueros,
There is not a lot of time to reserve a place to stay in San Miguel over Day
of the Dead, and many of our favorite hotels are already full.
PLEASE get your registrations in for the unique and very exciting festival!
If you do not have the registration page, let me know and I will email it to
you.
Write to me for information on hotels, travel, and how to send your payment.
I will be in Argentina Aug. 9-30, but I will be checking mail.
Read the story and SEE the photos sent to MISC file in the TANGO-A list on
this same morning.
An abrazo to you,
Christina

San Miguel de Allende is one of the most beautiful colonial towns in the
world! The architecture, markets, restaurants, hotels, and landscapes have
been photographed and documented in every major travel magazine; many movies
have been filmed there for the romantic backdrops. It is a popular
destination for artists, writers, and photographers. Beyond Tango has been
doing tango events there for six years. San Miguel de Allende is an amazing
place for great art, food, local color, and fantastic shopping!
Weather is perfect in October/November with warm sunny days and cool nights.

Last year's event was extraordinary; full of surprises! There was mystery
as well because of Day of the Dead. "Katrinas" (the skeleton fancy ladies)
roam the streets, altars abound in the plazas, on corners, everywhere. The
cemetery becomes a purple and gold mass of flowers, glittering with plastic
toys, studded with sugar replicas of food and skulls.
We had milongas in the historical buildings of San Miguel, and lots of
surprise events including dinners, tequila tastings and Aztec Aphrodisiac
cooking class.
E-mail me for references from dancers who attended last year at:

The BASE PRICE. is $485, and this includes ALL classes, 4 milongas, tango
show, and two special offerings from the above list, plus more. With
registration by Aug 1, you'll get a 10% discount ($437). Registration by
Sept. 1-Oct.1 is a 5% discount:( $461.) After Oct. 1, $485 price.

Classes are mostly limited to 26 people per class, as the class spaces are
in private homes and are not huge. The festival will close registration for
classes after the 80th registrant. Beyond Tango trips are very personalized
and with lots of attention to and from teachers and staff. We choose
integrity and care for the group over large numbers of dancers.

Fly into Leon, Mexico (BJX airport) or Mexico City.

E-mail me (beyondtango at earthlink.net) for a Hotel List of recommended
hotels!
