STUDENTS ASKED TO SHELTER IN PLACE DURING HURRICANE SANDY

Dear Students:

As Hurricane Sandy approaches, the potential for sustained, damaging winds and torrential rain poses a risk to health and safety. Therefore, the MIT Security and Emergency Management Office (SEMO) asks that students shelter in place, which means to take some
basic, common-sense precautions and remain indoors for the duration of the storm.

Read more details about your safety—as well as information about electrical power, dining, and other important topics—on the Dean for Student Life news page:

http://studentlife.mit.edu/news

For official updates and notifications from the Institute, check the MIT Emergency Information page:

http://emergency.mit.net/emergency/

Sheltering in place will keep you safe and help the MIT Police and other emergency responders remain free to watch over the entire community while the storm passes. Thanks for your cooperation.

Sincerely,

Chris Colombo
