As you've seen, the majority of StarCluster AMIs are available in
the us-east-1 region and sort of scattered about in the other
availability zones. I'm in the process of releasing StarCluster
0.92.2 which will come with new 11.10-based AMIs. These 11.10 AMIs
have already been built and are available in *all* availability
zones including the new sa-east zone, however, I'm waiting to flip
the public bit until 0.92.2 is released. Should be just in time for
Xmas, stay tuned...<br>

There is however an apparently suitable AMI listed in the cluster

AMIs, none Ubuntu 11.10, for us-east-1. <br>

I will probably try ami-61b28015 but I would rather work on
us-east-1 from the start. Also I don't know if there has been a
problem with the recent Ubuntu releases that I should be aware of.<br>
